Harden's Jewellers was established in 1949 by Bill and Julie Harden. They set up shop in Hawkesbury, Ontario and became well known in the community and surrounding for fine giftware and jewellery. They worked diligently and committed themselves to an exceptional level of service to their clientele. They complemented each other as Bill worked on repairs, special orders, and administrative duties while Julie took care of the buying, merchandizing, and selling of the products.

Through the early years, they managed to raise three sons as well -- no small task. Sons Bill and Reg entered the business at different stages in their lives. Bill graduated from Carleton University, taught for a year in Hawkesbury and then decided to join the family business in 1975. Reg received a B.Mus. and taught at Vankleek Hill Collegiate Institute before entering the retail world.

This is a family vocation that appreciates its "roots." Inherited family traits of integrity and honesty with a strong, keen sense to please people has lead to developing long-term relationships with clients based on high quality, value-added world class products and services.
